A Lullaby for Soldiers
An epic saga of courage, sacrifice, and the immortal glory of the Serbian Army in the Great War, filmed to mark the centenary of the end of World War I.
About the film: Based on the iconic “Serbian Trilogy” by academician Stevan Jakovljević, the film follows the fate of the Fifth Artillery Battery, which, like hundreds of thousands of others, defended the homeland in 1914 . Through the perspective of Stevan, a young biology professor, and his relationships with his commanding officers and fellow soldiers, “A Lullaby for Soldiers” paints a harrowing portrait of a generation that knowingly sacrificed their lives for freedom.
This is not merely a war film, but an intimate story of friendship and unity under impossible conditions, where the “zaspanka” flower remains the sole guardian over the graves of fallen heroes when history falls silent.
Production: With a budget of over €2 million, authentic costumes, and large-scale battle scenes, the film set new standards for domestic cinema. Filmed in demanding locations, the project brought together a top-tier team of professionals to faithfully reconstruct one of the most important periods in our history.
